Pincushion Hill Montessori School

Our Campus

A Rich Learning Environment Since 1962

Pincushion Hill Montessori School was established on September 6, 1962 on an acre of organic farmland. The farmers who were the caretakers of this land were true visionaries. They protected and nurtured the land knowing what was best to sustain this treasure.

Pincushion Hill has carried on the legacy of sustainable gardening. We have created many garden beds with a vast variety of fruits, vegetables, annuals, perennials, trees, shrubs, ornamentals, and tropical. We showcase numerous unusual plants from many parts of the globe.

Our children develop strong connections to gardening and nature. This important understanding and connection to nature, wonder, and beauty are integrated in the outdoor classroom.

The nature-study movement has gained huge popularity across America. Our nature-study program weaves horticulture, biology, zoology, geography, history, the language arts, and mathematics together.

The Pincushion Hill indoor classrooms are warm, inviting rooms filled with a variety of books, art displays, house plants, musical instruments, and so much more. The classrooms are intriguing and calm spaces where children learn, explore, and socialize. The Montessori classrooms are arranged to encourage exploration, investigation, and discovery. Our educators are more than just teachers; they are facilitators, mentors, and guides.
