Our Kindergarten program places a strong emphasis on independence, confidence, and responsibility, empowering children to take ownership of their learning and their role within the classroom community. In a thoughtfully prepared Montessori environment, children build leadership skills, make purposeful choices, and develop the self-assurance needed for a successful transition to elementary school.

A Continuum of Learning

Montessori is a continuum of learning that allows your child to build on experiences year after year. Kindergarten is the year when the seeds planted in the earlier classrooms truly come to fruition. Reading and writing come alive through sounds and symbols, while numbers and the decimal system are explored in a hands-on, meaningful way. Students investigate geometric figures and discover the countries and cultures of our world, connecting familiar materials to bigger ideas about how the world works.

Leading by Example

As the oldest children in the community, kindergartners step into the role of mentor and leader. By guiding younger friends, making thoughtful choices, and seeing their own work through from start to finish, they strengthen the focus, independence, and self-assurance that elementary school will ask of them.
